Local 727 Contract Secures Jobs for Meter Enforcement Members

| September 13, 2023

In July 2023, Local 727 representatives received notice that Laz Meters had terminated its contract with Lincoln Security to manage the Meter Enforcement bargaining unit. This is the second time since the Enforcement bargaining unit started in 2011 that it switched employers, the previous change of location happened in May 2019. Local 727 was quick to work on getting the incoming operator, Metro One Services LLC to sign the Meter contract and to ensure that they acquired the nearly 65 hardworking Teamsters Local 727 members.

Article 33 of the Union contract (Change of Location) requires incoming employers to provide employment to all of the current employees. Metro One LLC honored everyone’s existing pay rates and seniority dates per the CBA. In addition, there are no changes with the Local 727 benefits (Health Care, Pension and Legal and Educational Assistance). “Our Meter members have a tough job and I’m proud that the Local 727 contract provides security and stability so they can focus on their job and their families”, said, John Coli Jr (Secretary – Treasurer).

The Union is currently working on requesting a date for the 4th quarter meeting. Once a date has been selected it will be posted at the Meter shop.
