Union’s Contract Extension Offer Contingent on Osco Accepting Mediation Dates

| May 4, 2016

The Teamsters Local 727 Bargaining Committee on May 4 offered to extend the contract covering about 500 Chicago-area Osco pharmacists until 11:59 p.m. on Friday, May 20. The contract extension offer, which also includes full retroactivity, is contingent on the company agreeing to meet with the Local 727 Bargaining Committee and a federal mediator on Wednesday, May 18, and Friday, May 20. The mediator assigned to the mediation was not available to meet this week.

The Local 727 Bargaining Committee initially offered to enter mediation with Osco management after the company did not mirror the major movement by the union on the final scheduled day of bargaining April 29.

The current three-year contract is set to expire on May 7.

Local 727 will continue to update members as more information becomes available.
