WHEN WE FIGHT, WE WIN

| November 7, 2024

Early this morning, Former President Donald Trump won the presidential election. For some of our hardworking Teamsters members, this is exciting. We understand that Donald Trump may have been your candidate, and you woke up to good news. And for many others, this was not the result you wanted. It is not a secret that the Teamsters Local 727 Executive Board, Staff, and Agents endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris. This endorsement came in large part because of the straw poll hosted by the Local, but also because we felt Kamala Harris had the best interest of working people at heart.

Today may feel like a hard day or a scary day. It might feel divisive with your coworkers and some of your Union brothers and sisters. But today, in so many ways, is no different than yesterday was. At Teamsters Local 727, we are committed to fighting for workers’ rights. We will not back down to bullies – at the worksites, in court rooms, or in any political arena.

At Teamsters Local 727, we are committed to fighting for each and every working American, regardless of skin color, gender, immigration status, or sexual identity. We will continue to fight for higher wages, better healthcare, and justice at the workplace. We will fight for gender equality, racial justice, climate change reforms, and LGBTQ rights. We know that our members, our Union family, knows the importance of standing up for one another. At Teamsters Local 727, your fight is our fight.

No matter how today feels for you, please remember that when we fight, we win. We must stand together as Union brothers and sisters to protect our rights and each other. When we fight together, we win better healthcare, higher wages, and the respect and dignity each and every American worker deserves.
