PHOTOS: Local 727 Hosts Annual Paratransit Cookouts for MV and First Transit Members
This summer, Teamsters Local 727 hosted its annual paratransit cookouts for MV Transportation, Inc. and First Transit members at the companies’ Chicago and North Cook facilities. Hundreds of hardworking members stopped by to pick up grilled sausages, hot dogs, and bratwursts, as well as catch-up on the latest Local 727 happenings.
“Our paratransit members work extremely hard year-round to provide a vital service to their communities, yet they often don’t receive the recognition and thanks they deserve. These annual cookouts are the Union’s way of showing its appreciation for our Local 727 Brothers and Sisters,” said John Coli, Jr., Secretary-Treasurer of Local 727.
In addition to providing a delicious lunch, Local 727 representatives also distributed demand sheets to MV North Cook members in preparation for the upcoming collective bargaining agreement negotiations. MV North Cook members that have not yet received a demand sheet, or those with questions, should contact Local 727 Business Representative David Glass at (847) 696-7500 or [email protected].
Teamsters Local 727 currently represents more than 1,300 transit workers across Chicagoland, including nearly 300 MV Transportation employees and more than 150 First Transit employees.
