Teamsters Local 727-represented parkers, starters and jockey valets at Arlington Racecourse unanimously ratified a new three-year contract on April 14.
The Teamsters Local 727 Bargaining Committee and Chicago Zoological Society management on April 21 reached a tentative agreement on a five-year contract, which preserves health care benefits for nearly 300 workers at Brookfield Zoo.
As bargaining continued on April 21 for Local 727-represented pharmacists, Osco has sung a different tune at the table. Since April 12, Osco has ignored repeated information requests from Local 727 about the company’s profitability and rates for prescription drugs, which the company claims are declining without proof.
The Teamsters Local 727 Bargaining Committee and Pepsi management continued to make progress during contract negotiations on April 20, reaching tentative agreements on key issues such as rest periods, personal cell phone use and weekly guarantees.
Contrary to Osco’s claims, the union’s contract proposals are aimed at increasing pharmacy technician support, guaranteeing overlap and eliminating tasks that take away from primary job duties, and thus, compromise customer service and patient safety.
