IN IBT STRAW POLL BALLOT, TEAMSTERS LOCAL 727 MEMBERS OVERWHELMING VOTE TO ENDORSE JOE BIDEN FOR PRESIDENT

| May 22, 2024

For the first time in history, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters hosted rank-and-file Presidential roundtables last December. At these roundtables, every declared candidate for President was invited to participate and asked to answer the same questions as every other candidate, regardless of their party or standing in the polls. Questions included such topics as “right to work”, how they feel about A.I. automation,
what they think the middle class will look like in the future, and how they feel American workers are doing today.

To continue the progress made at the roundtables, General President Sean O’Brien, General Secretary-Treasurer Fred Zuckerman, and the General Executive Board decided to take it one step further by asking for input from each and every Teamster brother and sister by asking each Local to hold a straw poll. Teamsters Local 727 held this historical straw poll election during the May General Meeting. Each member was given the opportunity to cast their vote for the Presidential election, as well as to rank the issues most important to them.
At Teamsters Local 727, members voted overwhelming to endorse President Joe Biden in the 2024 Presidential election.

“I’m impressed that the International Union hosted rank-and-file round tables where every Presidential candidate attended and answered questions that matter most to our members,” said Secretary-Treasurer John Coli, Jr.
“I think hosting a straw poll was a great idea, and I’m proud that our members know the issues that matter most to working people and where each candidate stands on them. At Teamsters Local 727, our Union brothers and sisters have voted to endorse President Joe Biden in the 2024 Presidential election.”
