Home Juice Members Receive Retroactive 401(k) Contributions
Home Juice drivers and warehouse workers received retroactive retirement contributions this month as part of the terms of their new three-year contract.
The Teamsters Local 727-represented members are now participating in the Teamsters National 401(k) retirement plan. The employer is making monthly contributions, which increase each year of the contract, on each member’s behalf.
Additionally, the company retroactively contributed $153 per month to the 401(k) plan for each employee that worked on 11 or more workdays per month for the period of Jan. 1, 2015, to Feb. 29, 2016. (A total of $2,142 for all 14 months.)
“Retirement benefits were a major focus during negotiations, and the Local 727 Bargaining Committee fought hard for them,” said John Coli Jr., President of Local 727.
Thirty-one Home Juice warehouse workers and drivers distribute a variety of juice products throughout the Chicago area for the Melrose Park-based company.
