Register for Building Teamster Political Power Member Training

| April 15, 2016

In conjunction with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Teamsters Joint Council 25 is hosting a Building Teamster Political Power Member Training from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Saturday, May 7, 2016, in Park Ridge, Ill.

Rank-and-file members, stewards and reps from the Joint Council’s 27 affiliated local unions in Illinois and northwest Indiana are strongly encouraged to attend this important training. Participants will learn how to speak about political issues with fellow members, persuasion techniques and how to get more involved in politics through their locals and Joint Council 25. After a classroom-style session, members will be asked to participate in a real world activity, like phone banking, leafleting or a rally.

This training is critical to the future political strength and strategies of the IBT. Local union officers and business agents are also encouraged to attend.

Working closely with trainers from the Teamsters’ Department of Training & Development, the IBT is aiming to complete trainings before the International Convention in June. Nationally, the union is prepared to have trained political activists available to participate in Teamster election programs in the fall.

Any Teamster member interested in attending this political training MUST register online at http://ibt.io/BTPPJC25.
