Local 727 Protects Union Parking Jobs at Northwestern Hospital
Teamsters Local 727 representatives were able to preserve members’ jobs when ABM took over parking operations at Northwestern Memorial Hospital last month.
ABM initially refused to hire the five A&R Janitorial members who had worked at the location for many years. The union filed a grievance, citing the company’s violation of the master parking agreement, and won the fight to secure all of the members’ jobs.
“Parking has long been the lifeblood of this local union,” said John Coli Jr., President of Local 727. “Our members can count on us to hold employers accountable for their actions.”
Teamsters Local 727 represents nearly 10,000 hardworking men and women throughout the Chicagoland area, including more than 3,500 parking industry workers.
