Union Pushes to Resolve Dr. Pepper Snapple Grievances

Teamsters Local 727 representatives have been hard at work fighting against Dr. Pepper Snapple management’s recent contract violations.

  • The company made a unilateral change to allow vending members to take home their vans without bargaining with the union over the affects of the change, such as start times, what to do in the event of off-the-clock accidents and how far members can travel without pay.
  • The union has filed a grievance on behalf more than 30 commission pickers because the company is not paying these members the $105 guaranteed daily rate, per the contract.
  • The union won member Juan Montes’ reinstatement with two weeks of back pay following his wrongful termination.
  • Many members’ suspensions were reduced after the company unjustly disciplined them.

“The union takes each and every contract violation seriously and will do everything in its power to right management’s wrongs,” said John Coli Jr., President of Local 727.

Teamsters Local 727 represents more than 2,000 beverage industry workers, including about 500 hardworking men and women at Dr. Pepper Snapple.
