Union Mails New Contract Booklets to Pepsi Members

| August 11, 2016

After the Teamsters Local 727 Bargaining Committee spent more than 60 hours at nine negotiation meetings over 12 weeks with Pepsi management, the membership ratified a new four-year contract via mail ballot on July 5, 2016.

For your convenience, the union printed smaller versions of the contract for members to keep for quick reference. Copies of the contract booklets were mailed to all Pepsi members this week.

The unified contract for inside and outside workers at four Pepsi facilities in Chicago and Kankakee includes annual wage increases, more stringent job protections and a host of working conditions improvements. Additionally, because the contract was ratified before July 15, 2016, members will move to the company’s Standard Flex Benefits Program by Jan. 1, 2017. The new health insurance program can result in annual per employee savings of up to $1,500 with identical or improved coverage levels.

As always, contact your Teamsters Local 727 business representative if you have any questions.
