Teamsters Rally in Support of LifeSource Members
Dozens of Teamsters from across the Chicago area on July 22 rallied in Rosemont in support of Local 727-represented LifeSource drivers and MUAs, who are seeking a fair new contract.
The LifeSource members overwhelmingly rejected the company’s contract offer on July 10. The Teamsters Local 727 Bargaining Committee and LifeSource management are scheduled to resume negotiations July 25.
“Our members are united and strong, and they have the full backing of this union and Teamsters all across Illinois,” said John Coli Jr., President of Local 727. “We hope that management will finally listen to our members when we sit down again next week.”
The company’s proposed raises were far below the national average of 2.7 percent, a figure the company has admitted across the bargaining table.
The union will continue to update LifeSource members. If you have questions, contact your Local 727 business representative, Nick Micaletti, at (847) 696-7500 or [email protected].
