Members Updated on Local 727’s First Wins of 2019 at January Membership Meeting
Secretary-Treasurer John Coli, Jr. updated Teamsters Local 727 members on the recent successes of the Union during the first General Membership Meeting of the new year on January 27, 2019.
The membership was informed of the past month’s Union victories, including the Cook County Board of Commissioners’ repeal of an unjust tax-break for parking aggregator app companies, the positive reception of Local 727 representatives’ comments during the January meeting of the Illinois Collaborative Pharmaceutical Task Force, and the successful ratification of new collective bargaining agreements for Hawthorne Racecourse program sellers, live track and OTBs, as well as both the DoubleTree and Embassy Suites in Rosemont.
Great Lakes Coca-Cola Distribution and American Bottling Company inside members were also asked to mark their calendars for their upcoming demands meetings which are scheduled for Saturday, February 9th and Sunday, February 10th. Additional meeting information can be found on the Local 727 Calendar.
In preparation for upcoming negotiations, Osco pharmacists were also reminded to submit their contract demands via the OscoTeamsters.org website before Friday, February 15th.
“Local 727 has most certainly started 2019 off on the right foot,” said Secretary-Treasurer Coli, “and we’re not slowing down any time soon. We’re prepped and ready for a busy spring of organizing, arbitrations, and negotiations.”
The next general membership meeting will be held at noon on Sunday, February 24, 2019, in the Local 727 meeting hall at 1300 W. Higgins Road, Suite 114, Park Ridge, IL. Pastries and coffee will be served and prizes will be raffled.
