Osco Finally Gives Union Regressive Health Care Proposal

| June 8, 2016

For the first time – after eight full meetings — Osco management finally gave the Teamsters Local 727 Bargaining Committee an official health care proposal as federal mediation resumed June 8.

The company has proposed to cap annual premium increases at 6 percent while reserving the right to change the plan and benefits at any time and removing language that requires the company to offer pharmacists the same benefits that are offered to management and other store employees.

“This is not movement; this proposal is regressive because it is far is worse than what pharmacists have now,” said John T. Coli, Secretary-Treasurer of Local 727. “Under their proposal, the company would have the unfettered right to slash only the pharmacists’ benefits, and we would never agree to that.”

The union will continue to update pharmacists as mediation continues. If you have questions, contact your Local 727 business representative, Zach Frankenbach, at (847) 696-7500 or [email protected].
