With Strike Looming, Union and MV Transportation Reach Tentative Agreement on New Contract
The Teamsters Local 727 bargaining committee and MV Transportation, Inc. have reached a tentative agreement for a new three-year collective bargaining agreement covering paratransit drivers, dispatchers, schedulers, and reservationists based out of MV Transportation Division 135.
Yesterday, following a marathon bargaining session during which Local 727 and MV management spent nearly 10 hours at the negotiating table, the parties reached a tentative agreement which includes record wage increases, vastly improved vacation, and seven PTO days for all bargaining unit members.
Because of this new tentative agreement, the Union has cancelled the Unfair Labor Practice strike originally planned to begin on Monday, October 1st.
“The Union is proud of the hard work and dedication shown by our bargaining committee over these past months,” said John Coli, Jr., Secretary-Treasurer of Local 727. “This contract is a testament to the strength of our Union and the power we derive from standing united.”
A draft of the tentative agreement will be finalized next week and distributed to members for review prior to a ratification vote. In-person voting is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, October 6th—additional details will be distributed shortly.
The Local 727 bargaining committee recommends you vote “YES” in favor of this agreement.
