PHOTOS: Teamsters Join the Fight Against Breast Cancer
Teamsters, families and friends walked in Springfield, Park Ridge and Chicago this month to join the fight against breast cancer.
The Teamsters Joint Council 25 Women’s Committee once again partnered with the American Cancer Society for their Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walks. This year, the Women’s Committee added downstate participation at the Illinois State Fairgrounds in Springfield to their teams at Soldier Field in Chicago and Hodges Park in Park Ridge.
All told, more than 300 Teamsters and supporters, including several breast cancer survivors, walked and raised about $15,000 for the charity.
“These events are a fun way to build solidarity while coming together in our fight against this horrible disease,” said Women’s Committee President Maggie Jenkins. “Thank you to everyone who walked and donated and showed their support.”
The Women’s Committee will continue to collect donations for the American Cancer Society through Dec. 31. CLICK HERE to make a donation.
