Union to Hold Contract Demands Meetings for GLCCD Members

| January 29, 2019

Teamsters Local 727 is gearing up for negotiations with Great Lakes Coca-Cola Distribution, Inc.  Next month, the Union bargaining committee will sit down and commence negotiations for a successor collective bargaining agreement covering all GLCCD Inside and Outside employees, as well as GLCCD employees previously covered by the Coca-Cola Refreshments, USA Inc. contract.

In order to prepare for the upcoming negotiations, Local 727 will be hosting two meetings in the Union’s Park Ridge Meeting Hall to discuss GLCCD members’ contract demands and the upcoming negotiations.  All GLCCD members are STRONGLY encouraged to attend one of the follow Contract Demands Meetings:

Saturday Demands Meeting

Date: Saturday, February 9, 2019

Time: 1:00 p.m. — 2:30 p.m.

Location: Local 727 Meeting Hall, 1300 W. Higgins Rd., Suite 114, Chicago, IL 60068

Sunday Demands Meeting

Date: February 10, 2019

Time: 10:00 a.m. — 11:30 a.m.

Location: Local 727 Meeting Hall, 1300 W. Higgins Rd., Suite 114, Chicago, IL 60068

“I hope to see all of our GLCCD members at the Contract Demands Meetings and hear directly from them what contract matters they most want to see improved,” said John Coli, Jr., Secretary-Treasurer of Local 727.  “The strongest CBAs are won when we stand and fight together.  Coming out to one of these meetings is the first step towards obtaining a great successor contract.”

While GLCCD management has long said it would like a better relationship with its employees and Local 727, the Company’s recent actions—including multiple attempts to implement unilateral changes without first bargaining with the Union and GLCCD’s decision to pass-up a new business opportunity which may have created more work for Local 727 members—seem to suggest otherwise.

“Local 727 is ready and we will not give up until our GLCCD members receive a fair and just collective bargaining agreement,” added Coli.

The current collective bargaining agreement covering Inside and Outside workers of Great Lakes Coca-Cola Distribution will expire on April 30, 2019.
