Union Files New Unfair Labor Practice Charges Against River North Parking, As Arbitration Looms

| August 31, 2017

With five arbitrations looming against River North Parking, Teamsters Local 727 has filed three new unfair labor practice charges against the company as a result of its failure to process three of the arbitrations and its refusal to provide information to the Union. Two of the arbitrations are scheduled to be heard on September 11, 2017.

“Local 727 intends to hold River North accountable for its obligations under the collective bargaining agreement,” said John Coli, Jr., Secretary-Treasurer of Local 727. “The Union will not be hindered by the company’s delay tactics. We will continue to enforce the contract until a just resolution or final judgment is ordered.”

The September 11th arbitration cases concern, among other things, Reliable Valet and its successor/alter ego River North Parking’s refusal to recognize the Union and remit union dues as required by the collective bargaining agreement.

Members with questions should contact Local 727 Business Representative Ben Rodriguez at (847) 696-7500 or [email protected].

Nothing in this article should be read as the union’s waiver of any legal argument, position or additional grievance. The union does not forfeit its right to make any and all supplemental arguments.
