Union Fights Against Wrongful Wage Cuts for Hinckley Springs Members

| July 12, 2016

Teamsters Local 727 is fighting against DS Water management for wrongfully cutting commission rates for workers at Hinckley Springs.

The union recently learned that workers have had their commission rates for water sales at Home Depot stores slashed because of DS Water’s master agreement with Primo Water.

Local 727 filed a grievance on the issue and is now taking the case to arbitration.

“We have to draw a line in the sand. Our members can’t have their wages slashed because of the company’s national agreement with Primo,” said John Coli Jr., President of Local 727. “This is a fight for our members, but it’s also happening to commissioned employees all over the country.”

The reduction is equivalent to a wage cut of about $1,000 per month for each commissioned sales member.

Nothing in this article should be read as the union’s waiver of any legal argument, position or additional grievance. The union does not forfeit its right to make any and all supplemental arguments.
