Union and Wyndham Hotel Shuttle Drivers Ratify New Contract

| November 6, 2017

Wyndham Hotel shuttle drivers voted recently to ratify a new contract. This is just the second contract negotiated for this group, who became Local 727 members only five years ago. Highlights of the five-year agreement negotiated by Teamsters Local 727 include larger increases to wages and creation of new trip fees, extra paid time off, and improved working conditions.

Specifically, depending on years of service, drivers will receive annual raises ranging between 5%-5.5%. The overall hourly increase to wages over the life of the contract is $3.50, which is 50% higher than the wage increases of the previous contract. In addition to a $100 one-time ratification bonus, each driver will receive $10.00, each way, for all groups of 10 or more passengers transported to or from non-airport locations.

Drivers with 11 or more years of service will also receive an additional week (40 hours) of paid time off. And going forward, employees shall not be asked or required to wash or clean buses. The new collective bargaining agreement also maintains all other past contract provisions and protections.

Local 727 wants to thank the Union bargaining committee members for speaking up during negotiations. Their voices were vital to securing this strong contract.
