Local 727 Informs the Public of Vitalant’s Disrespect for its Workers

| August 8, 2019

Yesterday, Teamsters Local 727 distributed flyers notifying the public of Vitalant’s poor treatment of its hardworking employees.  The Union called on the Des Plaines community to stand with workers and demand Vitalant reach a fair agreement with Local 727 that provides employees with livable wages and adequate health care coverage.

“Throughout negotiations, Vitalant has summarily dismissed the pressing concerns of its employees.  The disrespect must end now,” said Nick Micaletti, Local 727 Business Representative for Vitalant workers.  “We ask all members of the community to stand with us and demand Vitalant begin treating our Brothers and Sisters with the dignity and respect they deserve.”

The Local 727 bargaining committee and Vitalant representatives are currently scheduled to meet on Monday, August 19 and Friday, August 23 to continue negotiating a new successor collective bargaining agreement covering Vitalant distribution drivers and Mobile Unit Assistants.

Members with questions should contact Local 727 Business Representative Nick Micaletti at (847) 696-7500 or [email protected].
