| March 15, 2018

As we look forward to spring, the Teamsters Local 727 Charitable Fund is also looking forward to teeing off at the First Annual Teamsters Local 727 Charitable Fund Golf Outing! Scheduled for May 21st, this outing will be the first fundraising event hosted by the recently formed Teamsters Local 727 Charitable Fund, which aims to support local charities and nonprofits in their efforts to improve the communities of Illinois.

First Annual Teamsters Local 727 Charitable Fund Golf Outing
Date: Monday, May 21, 2018
Location: White Pines Golf Club – 500 W. Jefferson St., Bensenville IL
Time: Registration – 10 a.m.    Shotgun Start – 11 a.m.

All proceeds from this first annual golf outing will benefit the Standing Tall Charitable Foundation. Founded by Reverend John P. Smyth, Standing Tall helps underserved and homeless youth, as well as struggling families, by awarding educational and vocational training scholarships.

Involvement with the Standing Tall Charitable Foundation is thanks to Local 727 Executive Board Trustee and Charitable Fund President Tony Wendel. “When I heard about all the great work Rev. Smyth had accomplished with his foundation I thought, ‘wow, this is special,’” Wendel said.

The work of the Standing Tall Foundation – to award scholarship money to those most in need – reminded Wendel of Local 727’s Educational Assistance Fund that helps its participants and their families afford college. “Much like Local 727, the Standing Tall Foundation has the power to positively affect the lives of so many who need a helping hand,” said Wendel.

Now Local 727 members and allies have the wonderful opportunity to support the work of the Standing Tall Charitable Foundation by attending, becoming a sponsor, or donating to the First Annual Teamsters Local 727 Charitable Fund Golf Outing.

Reservation and sponsorship details can be found on the golf outing registration form. Should you have any questions, please contact Maggie Ward in the Local 727 office at (847) 696-7500.
