Local 727 Challenges ABS’s Unfair Labor Practices

| April 20, 2017

Teamsters Local 727 has filed unfair labor practice charges with the National Labor Relations Board against parking company ABS LLC stemming from several violations of the collective bargaining agreement, and federal labor law.

Region 13 of the NLRB is investigating ABS’s unilateral changes to the collective bargaining agreement, its refusal to process grievances, its refusal to provide information on arbitration and recent layoffs, and its violation of employee Weingarten rights.

“These are just the latest in a long line of violations from ABS,” said John Coli Jr., President of Local 727. “Employers like ABS need to know that if they violate labor laws, this union is not afraid to fight back and challenge them every step of the way.”

Teamsters Local 727 represents 10,000 hardworking men and women throughout the Chicago area, including about 3,500 parking industry employees.

Members with questions should contact Business Representative Ben Rodriguez at (847) 696-7500 or [email protected].

Nothing in this article should be read as the union’s waiver of any legal argument, position or additional grievance. The union does not forfeit its right to make any and all supplemental arguments.
