Local 727 and Standard Parking Ratify New 5-Year Contract for Shuttle Bus Drivers

| June 12, 2017

Teamsters Local 727 and Standard Parking ratified a new collective bargaining agreement for SP shuttle bus drivers. The term is for five years, commencing December 1, 2016 and extending through November 30, 2021.

Among the major provisions that the union fought for and won were wage increases each of the five years, more adequate health care coverage, and five sick days and one personal day. Previously, members had zero sick and personal days.

“I commend our bargaining team for their efforts in showing management that we will not back down until drivers get the respect that is their due,” said John Coli Jr., President of Local 727. “The union’s leafletting campaign back in April was a major factor in securing terms more favorable for our members; it compelled management back to the negotiating table.”

The staff of Local 727 stood outside Aon Center and Prudential Plaza for more than two hours on April 21, 2017, handing out yellow flyers to passengers disembarking from the buses.

Standard Parking’s 25 shuttle bus drivers pick up passengers at Ogilvy Transportation Center and Union Station and drop them off at Aon Center-Prudential Plaza, 353 N. Clark, and 1K Fulton.
