LifeSource drivers and mobile unit assistants ratified a new three-year contract on Aug. 14.082416_LifeSourcemember

The Teamsters Local 727 Bargaining Committee recommended the contract, which includes annual wage increases with retroactivity and improved working conditions.

After LifeSource members overwhelmingly rejected the company’s first offer on July 10, the Local 727 Bargaining Committee and management returned to the bargaining table on July 25.

“Our members sent a message to management that they deserved more and that they were united in fighting for fair wages,” said John Coli Jr., President of Local 727.

The new contract, which expires June 30, 2019, also includes employer-paid CDL renewal fees, extended recall rights, an improved PTO request policy and expanded topics of discussion for quarterly safety meetings in order to address issues as they occur.

Teamsters Local 727 represents 43 drivers and MUAs at Rosemont-based LifeSource, which operates 18 community blood donor centers and conducts about 10 mobile blood drives each day.
