More than 60 funeral directors and embalmers participated in Teamsters Local 727’s semi-annual continuing education seminar on Wednesday, December 13, at the Union Hall in Park Ridge.

The six-hour program featured the following topics and presenters:

• “Gunshot Wounds Determining Distance,” presented by Gale Bednar Keefe
• “Cabbage vs. CABG,” presented by Gale Bednar Keefe
• “Death Certificate Updates,” presented by Gale Bednar Keefe
• “Making an Executive Decision,” presented by Christella Booker
• “Edematous Cases,” presented by William Sweetman
• “Practical Implications,” presented by Bradley Fuller

Funeral directors and embalmers in attendance earned a total of six continuing education hours. Three of the hours are allocated to directing credit while the other three are allocated to embalming credit.

“We want members coming away from these seminars with useful information so that they can better serve families in our communities,” said John Coli Jr., Secretary-Treasurer of Local 727. “Local 727 is proud to host these programs which are free to members, and we look forward to hosting more.”

The Union plans to hold a free seminar again in the spring. Members are encouraged to share their ideas for topics to be covered with their Local 727 business representatives.
