Dr Pepper Drivers Stand Strong with the Support of Local 705

| June 5, 2018

Today, Teamsters Local 727 Drivers marked the 15th day of the Unfair Labor Practice Strike against the American Bottling Company, a subsidiary of Dr Pepper Snapple Group Inc., with a cookout hosted by Teamsters Local 705.

With spirits and energy running high, the 727 Drivers shared their experiences on the strike line, as well as their hopes for an end to the numerous unfair labor practices, with their 705 Brothers over burgers and hot dogs.

“Thank you to the Executive Board, staff, and members of Local 705, not only for joining us on the strike line today,” said John Coli Jr., Secretary-Treasurer of Teamsters Local 727, “but for helping our members continue to stand strong for what is right.”

Last week, the more than 150 striking Drivers learned that Local 705 would be supporting the Union by providing ONE WEEK OF STRIKE BENEFITS, totaling over $50,000.

“Knowing our Teamster Brothers and Sisters are behind us, we are more determined than ever in our fight,” added Coli.  “With Union morale at an all-time high, we are prepared and will continue to stand together until our members are treated fairly.”

The Teamsters Local 727 Bargaining Committee, including Union stewards and Business Agent Caleen Carter-Patton, will be meeting with Dr Pepper management tomorrow morning, Wednesday, June 6, 2018.  The Union will keep members updated on developments.

Nothing in this article should be read as the union’s waiver of any legal argument, position or grievance. The union does not forfeit its right to make any and all supplemental arguments.
