Local 727 Stands in Solidarity with Indiana Teachers as they Demand Change

| November 21, 2019

Over 100 school districts in Indiana closed on Tuesday as thousands of teachers and their allies joined together to protest outside of the state’s capital, according to ABC News.  In an impressive show of solidarity, the Indiana State Teachers Association organized the “Red for Ed” day of action to demand better pay for teachers, a fair teacher evaluation process, a repeal of burdensome licensing renewal requirements, and an overall increase in investment in Indiana schools from state legislators.

Teamsters Local 727 is proud to stand in solidarity with Indiana teachers and the Indiana State Teachers Association as they demand fair treatment for themselves and their students.

“As an integral part of our communities, teachers deserve to be treated fairly,” said John Coli, Jr., Secretary-Treasurer of Local 727.  “Local 727 is proud to stand with our Indiana neighbors as they fight for real, effective change.”
