Local 727 and Dr Pepper Reach Tentative Agreement on New Inside CBA

| April 26, 2019

The Teamsters Local 727 bargaining committee and the American Bottling Company, a Keurig Dr Pepper subsidiary, successfully reached a tentative agreement on a new successor collective bargaining agreement covering all Inside workers.

Among the top achievements of the tentatively agreed new contract are 4% across-the-board raises, 5 paid sick days for all Dr Pepper employees, and a $4,000 bonus if members ratify the agreement on the first vote.  Dr Pepper has also agreed to the Union’s proposal to have a professional industrial engineer review and determine new productivity and efficiency standards for DSR pickers.

Unfortunately, the Company did hold firm on their proposal to introduce a new HSA health care plan.  However, Local 727 was successful in negotiating a contract term of less than three-years with an expiration date of January 31, 2022, placing the expiration of the proposed Inside CBA just 3 months before the expiration of the current Outside CBA.

Local 727 is currently working to finalize a draft of the tentative agreement and arrange a ratification vote.  The draft tentative agreement will be distributed to all members prior to the vote.

“This contract is a direct result of the Local 727 members’ solidarity and strength.  Because our Dr Pepper members wore their buttons and showed their support for the Union bargaining committee, we were able to secure a strong contract,” said John Coli, Jr., Secretary-Treasurer of Local 727.  “We look forward to discussing the details of the tentative agreement more in depth with all Dr Pepper members and will recommend all members vote ‘For Contract’ at the ratification vote.”

Local 727 will update members as soon as the details of a ratification vote have been confirmed.
