List of Keurig Dr Pepper ULP Charges Grow as Company’s Alleged Unlawful Behavior Continues

| August 23, 2019

Teamsters Local 727 has filed a new Unfair Labor Practice charge with Region 13 of the National Labor Relations Board against the American Bottling Company, a Keurig Dr Pepper subsidiary, for the Company’s outrageous union surveillance activities.  The charge was filed immediately after members informed the Union that Keurig Dr Pepper management had begun questioning workers about their union activities and support.  Such interrogations are prohibited by the National Labor Relations Act.

Local 727’s ULP charge also alleges Keurig Dr Pepper violated federal law when members of management began telling employees that they must remove Local 727 pins and hats while working.

“Keurig Dr Pepper should be ashamed of their managers’ actions.  Not only have they violated federal labor law by interrogating employees, they have infringed upon workers’ constitutional right to free speech,” said John Coli, Jr., Secretary-Treasurer of Local 727.  “This Union will not back down so long as Keurig Dr Pepper continues to blatantly violate the law.”

If a Keurig Dr Pepper manager approaches YOU and attempts to interrogate you about your
Union activities or instructs you to remove a Local 727 pin, hat, or other such item,
contact your Local 727 Lead Business Representative Caleen Carter-Patton
or Local 727 Organizer Don Leiva IMMEDIATELY.

Local 727 would like to thank the brave Sales Service Representatives and Account Managers that have come forward to report Keurig Dr Pepper’s unlawful behavior.

“We must continue to speak up and stand together,” added Secretary-Treasurer Coli.  “Only by remaining united will we have the power to hold Keurig Dr Pepper accountable for its actions.”

These most recent charges join a growing list of ULP charges filed by Local 727 against Keurig Dr Pepper this summer.  The Union has also filed ULP charges over the Company’s unilateral and retaliatory rerouting of SSRs and Account Managers.  All ULP charges against Keurig Dr Pepper are currently pending investigation by Region 13 of the NLRB.

Members wanting to report an incident or with questions should contact Local 727 Lead Business Representative Caleen Carter-Patton at (847) 696-7500 or [email protected] or Local 727 Organizer Don Leiva at (773) 331-1432 or [email protected].

Nothing in this article should be read as the union’s waiver of any legal argument, position or grievance(s), or as a waiver of any rights, arguments, or defenses under any contract, collective bargaining agreement, or applicable law.  The union does not forfeit its right to make any and all supplemental arguments.
